Yaron Meydan – Family Lawyer and father. October 2015. Yaron talks about how the courts, including the Supreme Court abuses human rights in Israel. As a child of holocaust survivors, he describes the pain of having to talk about the facts of Israel in modern times. ‘I never thought there would be discrimination in Israel against Jews, just because they are Jews’ – a comment which sets the scene for information of international treaties, and the application of family laws which causes fathers to give up life completely, leaving children orphaned. He talks of how courts have hijacked the democracy, leaving the people living in a dictatorship. Discriminated against just because of religion and gender. He says that Article 7, Chapter 7 of the Rome Treaty is broken. He describes in more detail the contact centres and child support burdens. He is a leading lawyer in the campaign to reform family laws, and also led a protest outside the Supreme Court in November 2016.
