Russel is a South African Israeli, suffering major human rights abuse and Trapped in Israel. He cannot have a driving licence, bank account, business. He fell into a small debt, and with no Hebrew language he has had no help whatsoever. For almost 5 years, he has not been able to get benefits to live on, cannot manage, and feels in a catch 22. He has never been allowed a translator in court, and all documents have been in Hebrew, which he cannot read at all. Decisions were made on his behalf that he didn’t understand. He talks of feeling real hunger. As a former professional photographer, the humiliation is complete.
